Injury Update

Parker, in his 10th season with the Spurs, is averaging 17.1 points, 6.6 assists, 3.1 rebounds and 1.24 steals per game while shooting .518 from the field. Parker is one of two players in the NBA to average at least 15.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 rebounds and shoot at least .500 from the field. After going MRI earlier this week he is expected to miss Two to Four weeks after diagnosed with a strained left Soleus, which is a smaller muscle at the back of the lower human leg and under Gastrocnemius which is the big portion of muscle on the calf. Though it’s a major loss to the Spurs, they still have managed to win two out of their last three games and they are the first team to reach 50 wins this season. Tony Paker is expected to travel with the team to Cleveland where the Spurs start their 4 games road streak in the eastern conference. The former NBA finals MVP is expected to make his return against the LA Lakers on March, 6, 2011 which happens to be one the San Antonio Spurs biggest rivals where both teams are in the same conference and considered as championship caliber teams and dominate in the western conference, and a history of winning back to back championship in the early 2000’s lead by Kobe Bryant and Tim Duncan. Tim Duncan came runners up for the award of the player of the decade after losing to Kobe Bryant who has now won 5 championships with the La Lakers.
